Weathered Crisis Fragment: How to Defeat Dorian in the Stone Bastion and Earn Rewards

To defeat Dorian (Doryani, Royal Thaumaturge) in the Stone Bastion (Stone Citadel) and earn the Weathered Crisis Fragment, follow these key steps and strategies:

Where to Find Doryani

  • Doryani is the boss of the Stone Citadel, a Vaal pyramid-themed Citadel that can spawn randomly on your Atlas map.

  • The Stone Citadel requires Tier 15 Waystones to enter, making it an endgame challenge.

  • The Citadels are rare and random, so you may need to clear map nodes and explore extensively to find one.

How to Defeat Doryani

Fight Phases

The fight has two main phases:

  1. Phase 1: Doryani, Royal Thaumaturge

  • Doryani has around 140k HP (higher on Cruel difficulty).

  • He uses a mix of melee and ranged attacks, including energy shield protection.

  • Stay mobile to avoid his spells and attacks, watching for his casting animations.

  1. Phase 2: Doryani’s Triumph (Mechanical Crab)

  • After reducing Doryani’s health by half, he transforms into a large mechanical crab with about 220k HP (more on higher difficulties).

  • This phase features slam attacks, frontal ice and fire beams, and a dangerous spinning laser attack called the "Doryani Crab Disco Laser."

  • Key tactics:

  • Stay close to its side or back to avoid frontal beams and slams.

  • Dodge roll toward its back when it attacks to evade damage.

  • Roll away during large AoE slams.

  • Watch for subtle animations on its large front legs to anticipate attacks.

General Tips

  • Keep moving to avoid heavy damage from beams and slam attacks.

  • Use defensive cooldowns or movement skills to survive the laser spin.

  • Positioning is critical-avoid standing in front of the crab’s legs.

  • Be patient and learn attack cues to time dodges effectively.

Rewards for Defeating Doryani

  • Weathered Crisis Fragment:

  • This is one of three unique Crisis Fragments needed to access the pinnacle boss, the Arbiter of Ash, in The Burning Monolith.

  • You can obtain multiple Crisis Fragments from the boss by increasing Waystone drop chance through Atlas passive nodes such as Waystone Quantity, Waystone Modifier Effect, Constant Crossroads, and Grueling Journey.

  • Crisis Fragments can also be sold for high-value currency like Exalted and Divine Orbs if you choose not to pursue the Arbiter fight immediately.

  • Additional loot includes regular boss drops and crafting materials.

Preparing for the Fight

  • Ensure your character is well-geared with strong defenses and damage output suitable for late-game content.

  • Invest in Atlas passive nodes that increase Waystone quantity and modifier effects to boost fragment drop chances.

  • Clear adjacent map nodes and towers to improve your chances of Citadel spawns.

  • Bring flasks and skills that enhance survivability and mobility.

  • Find the Stone Citadel on your Atlas map (requires Tier 15 Waystones).

  • Enter and defeat Doryani in two phases-the human thaumaturge and his mechanical crab form.

  • Use positioning and dodge mechanics to survive his powerful attacks.

  • Claim the Weathered Crisis Fragment as a reward to unlock the Arbiter of Ash pinnacle boss or sell it for valuable currency.

  • Increase your drop chances by investing in Waystone-related Atlas nodes.
