Mastering the Simulacrum: Strategies for Waves and Rewards

How to Access the Simulacrum

To enter the Simulacrum, players must collect 300 Simulacrum Splinters, which drop from Delirium-influenced maps across the Atlas. These splinters can also be purchased or farmed efficiently by running high-density Delirium maps like Burial Chambers or Strand. Once assembled, the Simulacrum map is placed into the Realmgate to open portals to the encounter, which begins in arenas such as Clearfell Lumbermill or other randomized zones.

Wave Mechanics and Combat Strategy

The Simulacrum consists of 15 waves, each progressively more difficult. Waves feature numerous Delirium monsters with modifiers that increase their damage, speed, or resistances, alongside occasional rare enemies with powerful affixes. Every few waves, players face unique Delirium bosses-most notably Kosis, the Revelation, and Omniphobia, Fear Manifest. These bosses appear randomly but will eventually show up simultaneously, at which point prioritizing Kosis is critical due to his battlefield control abilities.

The arenas vary in size and layout, often becoming more cramped in later waves, which increases the challenge as enemies swarm. Effective strategies center on high area-of-effect damage to thin out hordes quickly, combined with strong defenses. Evasion is particularly valuable for avoiding damage outright, while builds relying on armor or energy shield must focus on crowd control to survive.

Players are advised to carry healing items like Omens of Resurgence, which restore life and energy shield during the fight. Managing these consumables carefully can be the difference between success and failure.

Rewards and Loot

Each wave drops randomized loot, including Distilled Emotions-special crafting materials linked to Delirium mechanics. Completing all 15 waves grants a Book of Knowledge, which awards passive skill points in the Ritual skill tree, plus a choice of unique rewards such as powerful helmets, body armor, mana flasks, or weapons with unique affixes.

The Simulacrum also offers exclusive cluster jewels and other unique items that can only be obtained through this encounter. Higher waves increase the quantity and quality of loot, providing strong incentives to push as far as possible.

Tips for Success

  • Build for strong area damage and evasion to handle large enemy groups.

  • Prioritize killing Kosis first when both bosses appear to maintain battlefield control.

  • Use healing consumables strategically to sustain through waves.

  • Manage inventory between waves using the available stash to avoid losing valuable items.

  • Learn the layouts of different arenas to optimize positioning and movement.

Mastering the Simulacrum is a rewarding challenge that tests your build’s damage, survivability, and resource management. With practice and the right strategy, you can conquer all 15 waves and claim some of PoE 2’s best rewards.
